Leap and Bound was established by Lucy Nelson (RAD RTS), a freelance, fully qualified dance teacher and ex-professional dancer who teaches in East Sussex.

Lucy began dancing aged 2 and went on to study at the Solihull Ballet School, performing as a soloist with the West Midlands Youth Ballet. Here she had the privilege of working with William Louther and performing Martha Graham and Talley Beatty contemporary pieces. She then trained at one of the world's top professional dance schools, the prestigious Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. She has danced with companies such as Moving Visions, Ijad and NuTempo Dance Company, performing in theatres such as the Royal Opera House Lindbury Studio, Cochrane and The Place.

She then gained her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, becoming a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and has extensive experience teaching RAD ballet classes in London and Sussex. In 2011 she joined the Kidsdance Group, devising and offering contemporary dance classes to children.

Lucy also teaches at the Rennie Dance Academy, successfully preparing children for RAD ballet exams and choreographing for their bi-annual Shows. She also teaches on the Art of Dance school Easter Camps and Summer Schools in Lewes.

Lucy strives to offer professional, enjoyable classes, balancing fun and creativity with learning sound technique. She is a highly trained dancer and a fully qualified and experienced teacher, hoping to pass on her love and passion for dance.
